A Nigerian woman has gone viral after crying out over a phone she said she purchased for over N1.1 million, alleging that the device was faulty and has disrupted her business operations.
In a video circulating online, she explained that the purchase was made from years of savings while she worked to improve her life through content creation and business activities.
She said, “Not as if I just wake up and I remove N1.1 million naira to buy a phone. I saved for it. I saved that money.”
She added that her goal was to upgrade her work tools to support her content production, noting that she runs both business and personal content creation. According to her, “I only wanted a better life. I only wanted to work my way out from poverty.”
The woman further explained that she creates videos for resellers and relies heavily on her phone for daily work. She also said, “I work 2, 4, 7,” stressing the effort she puts into her business.
However, she alleged that the phone developed faults shortly after purchase, particularly with the camera quality, which she described as affecting her content output.
She said, “The camera was bad and the iPhone was shining white. Even when I want to make a video in my store, it’s always shining white.”
According to her, attempts to resolve the issue with the seller were unsuccessful, as she claimed the seller responded with insults, prompting her to escalate the matter.
She also said she reported the case to the police, where both parties were heard during mediation.
Reiterating her frustration, she maintained that the purchase was made with hard-earned money, insisting that the situation has left her unable to continue her work.
“I’m not sure I’m going to let it slide. I can’t because my life is paused,” she said, adding that the phone issue has affected both her business and content creation.
