The ex-husband of Nollywood actress Judy Austin, Emmanuel Obasi, has made controversial allegations about their past marriage, reigniting public discussion online.
Speaking during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, Obasi confirmed that he was previously married to Judy Austin and that they share two children together. He also claimed that their relationship began to deteriorate while they were still living as a couple.
According to him, the tension in their marriage started when actor Yul Edochie frequently appeared on television, an occurrence he says gradually affected the dynamics in their home.
Obasi alleged that his wife at the time openly expressed admiration for the actor whenever he appeared on screen.
“Anytime we were watching TV and Yul Edochie appears, Judy won’t concentrate anymore, she’ll be telling me to my face that she loves Yul and be praising him,” he claimed.
He further described the period as emotionally difficult, stating that he noticed a growing distance between them during that time.
Obasi also insisted that their marriage had already begun facing serious issues before it eventually broke down, adding that he believes Judy Austin’s connection with Yul Edochie started while he was still legally married to her.
He said he has evidence to support his claims and, while speaking emotionally on the podcast, presented what he described as pictures of their traditional marriage to back up his account.
The controversy has resurfaced public interest in the relationship timeline between Judy Austin and Yul Edochie, who reportedly began as a secret affair. The relationship later led to the breakdown of Yul Edochie’s previous marriage with his ex-wife, May Edochie filing for divorce.
The pair later welcomed their first child in 2021 and subsequently formalized their union through a private traditional marriage ceremony.
