A lady has sparked reactions online after recounting an awkward moment during a date when she mistakenly believed her companion had abandoned her at a restaurant.
According to her, the incident began after the man told her he was not hungry and would not be ordering food. As a result, she became the only person at the table to place an order.
The situation changed when the man suddenly stood up and said he wanted to use the restroom.
The lady explained that his exit immediately made her anxious because she had previously seen stories online about people abandoning their dates and leaving them to pay restaurant bills.
Convinced he might not return, she quickly paid for her meal and asked the restaurant staff to package the food for takeaway.
However, when the man returned, he was surprised to find her meal already packed and ready to go.
When he asked what happened, she explained:
“I told him I thought he wasn’t coming back.”
According to her, the explanation upset him and he reacted loudly in the restaurant, saying:
“Me run away because of ₦30k food?? Are you mad??”
The outburst reportedly drew attention from other diners, leaving the lady embarrassed as people turned to watch.
